Jalen Crespo is a Senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry following the pre-medical track to become a physician. He is President of the LMSA+ (Latino Medical Student Association) chapter in the City College of New York. Jalen matriculated into the Whitney lab through being a fellow of the ORCA (Opportunities in Creative Research and Arts) program this past summer. His research is focused on analyzing the respiratory system of zebra finches and how it relates to adult males’ strength and complexity in song. Out of this work, he hopes to draw further ideas for research in pulmonology in his future endeavors.
